Supermeasured: Violating Bell-Statistical Independence Without Violating Physical Statistical Independence

چکیده

Abstract Bell’s theorem is often said to imply that quantum mechanics violates local causality, and causality cannot be restored with a hidden-variables theory. This however only correct if the theory fulfils an assumption called Statistical Independence. Violations of Independence are commonly interpreted as correlations between measurement settings hidden variables (which determine outcomes). Such have been discarded “fine-tuning” or “conspiracy”. We here point out common interpretation at best physically ambiguous worst incorrect. The problem might violated because non-trivial measure in state space, possibility we propose call “supermeasured”. use Invariant Set Theory example supermeasured without requiring (physical statistical independence).

Invariant Set Theory: Violating Measurement Independence without Fine Tuning, Conspiracy, Constraints on Free Will or Retrocausality

Invariant Set (IS) theory is a locally causal ontic theory of physics based on the Cosmological Invariant Set postulate that the universe U can be considered a deterministic dynamical system evolving precisely on a (suitably constructed) fractal dynamically invariant set in U’s state space. IS theory violates the Bell inequalities by violating Measurement Independence. Despite this, IS theory i...

Diversity partitioning without statistical independence of alpha and beta.

Diversity partitioning has become a popular method for analyzing patterns of alpha and beta diversity. A recent evaluation of the method emphasized a distinction between additive and multiplicative partitioning and further advocated the use of multiplicative partitioning based on a presumed independence between alpha and beta. Concurrently, additive partitioning was criticized for producing dep...

A Kernel Statistical Test of Independence

Although kernel measures of independence have been widely applied in machine learning (notably in kernel ICA), there is as yet no method to determine whether they have detected statistically significant dependence. We provide a novel test of the independence hypothesis for one particular kernel independence measure, the Hilbert-Schmidt independence criterion (HSIC). The resulting test costs O(m...

2 Realistic models violating Bell ’ s inequality

We present a detailed analysis of assumptions that J. Bell used to show that local realism contradicts QM. We find that Bell’s viewpoint on realism is nonphysical, because it implicitly assume that observed physical variables coincides with ontic variables (i.e., these variables before measurement). The real physical process of measurement is a process of dynamical interaction between a system ...
